I am a qualified Therapeutic Counsellor working within the Ethical Framework of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy.

This is my professional body which sets the professional standards for what you can expect from me as your counsellor.

My commitment to you

I am committed to your well-being and to providing you with an opportunity to explore your situation and to help you identify the best way forward.

I work within professional boundaries of time, place and confidentiality.

My base

I am based in the South Mainland area of Shetland, but can work with anyone across the U.K. online or by phone

I provide counselling sessions online (via Zoom), by telephone, or if you are nearby face to face in my private studio.

I offer sessions within the working week but not at weekends.

Sessions are 50 minutes in length.

How I work

I am a Humanistic Existential Counsellor working in a client centred way.

This means I work with you in your world and how you relate to it.

I have experience of working with a wide variety of issues including, self esteem, anxiety, stress, trauma, bereavement, loss, transgender issues, depression and many others.

I aim to provide, you with a supportive, non-judgmental environment in which you will be given time and space to understand and gain insight into your situation. This process can foster growth and lead to positive change in your life.

Many people choose to attend on a fortnightly basis, but weekly or monthly appointments are also available. We can agree the best spacing for your situation together.

I do not ask you to attend a minimum number of sessions. I will however aim to provide you with the appropriate number of sessions relevant to your circumstances and the issues you bring.

Not all types of issues can be approached or resolved through online counselling and I will advise you if face to face counselling, or some other form of support might be more suitable for you.
